Discontinuation of Baroque Flute Making
バロック・フルート製作停止のお知らせ

After seventeen years of dedicated and earnest instrument building, I have decided to discontinue fabrication of instruments.

I made the mistake of injuring myself repeatedly over the years, by building instruments (especially bassoons and clarinets) the hard way, completely by hand, spending far too many hours reaming, scraping, bending, filing and sanding.

If I manage to heal sufficiently in the future, I may return to building flutes.  But I do not have a definite date planned to resume.

I thank my many clients for their patronage and enthusiasm over the years and hope to keep in touch.

I will honor the agreement to re-ream instruments gratis to the first owner, however I will charge for shipping of the instrument.  For instruments of mine that have been re-sold, I will still be happy to re-ream and maintain them as needed, but will charge for the time and shipping costs, if needed.

17年間、ひたむきに真剣に楽器作りをしてきましたが、このたび一切の楽器製作を 止めることにしました。長年の楽器製作、特にファゴットとクラリネットの製作過 程で、全くの手作業で長時間リーマーを使用したり、削ったり、曲げたり、やすり をかけたりサンドペーパーで磨いたりというような作業を繰り返し、一度痛めた腕 をその後も何度も痛めてしまいました。

将来、痛めた腕が充分に治れば、バロック・フルートの製作を再開するかもしれま せん。が、現時点ではその予定は立てられません。

当方もしくはアンリュウ・リコーダー・ギャラリーから直接お買い上げいただいた 楽器の内径調整は、今まで通り、無料でいたします(返送時の送料だけご負担くださ い)。それ以外のルートでお買い上げいただいた当方の楽器につきましては、内径調 整を含めた調整修理は有料、そして送料をご負担いただくことになります。当方に 楽器を返送される前にdydeitch@sbcglobal.netまでメールでご連絡くださいますよ うお願いいたします。
